YouTube ASR Summarize (local, no tokens)

Use this skill to summarize a YouTube video even when subtitles are missing by downloading audio and running local speech-to-text.

Quick start

1) One-time deps

brew install yt-dlp ffmpeg

2) Create venv + install ASR

python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install faster-whisper

3) Run

python3 scripts/youtube_asr_summarize.py \

Outputs in --out:

• summary.md（含：連結 + 摘要 + 時間軸）

Notes

• Default model small (CPU/int8) is fast; use --model medium for better accuracy.

這個工具能本地完成 YouTube 影片轉寫和總結，無需付費 API，隱私性好。功能流程完整，文件易讀。缺點是摘要生成針對特定領域（中文金融）最佳化明顯，對其他內容型別的總結效果可能不佳。另外缺少規範的依賴宣告和測試，對普通使用者不夠友好。總體屬於可用但需針對性使用的工具。
